A biker was injured in a wreck in Miller County Wednesday evening.

Robert J. Clavier of Salem, Missouri was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The 37-year-old was driving a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle south on Route Y around 8:45 p.m. June 27, 2018. “Traveling at a high rate of speed,” the bike went off the right side of the roadway near Beacon Road just west of Eldon and struck a tree, ejecting Clavier. 

The bike was described as totaled. The report indicates Clavier was wearing a helmet.

Clavier was arrested by a state trooper at 9:01 p.m. for careless and imprudent involving a crash, driving while suspended - 2nd, resisting arrest, selling or purchasing a motor vehicle without title, failure to register motor vehicle, no insurance, no motorcycle endorsement and displaying plates of another. 

According to further information provided by the MSHP, the trooper had earlier attempted to pull Clavier over for careless and imprudent driving. Clavier allegedly fled at that time. He was later located after being in the crash.
