The Greenview Elks Lodge No. 2857 celebrated Flag Day with a ceremony on June 14. The Elks Grand Lodge adopted a resolution in 1907 designating June 14 as Flag Day making the Elks the first fraternal organization to require observance of Flag Day with appropriate ceremonies. National Flag Day was later established by an act of congress in August of 1949. Pictured are officers and members at the lodge celebrating the birth of the American Flag while honoring the flags through their historial progression, ending with the retirement of several flags.
