The Camdenton R-III School District Education Foundation, Inc. recently announced at its annual fundraiser, Elegant Evening, the 2018, Classroom Impact Grants recipients. Theses grants provide teachers with needed hands-on tools that cannot be provided by traditional financial resources.

The recipients are: Sherry Marose, Lake Career & Technical Center, Lori Covington and Angela Pace, Hurricane Deck Elementary, Penny Spencer and Jamie Webster, Middle School, Denise Alford, Camdenton Middle School and Hawthorn Elementary, Sarah Jenkins, Camdenton High School, and Doug Starkey, Director of Technology and STEM Education.  This year’s grants ranged from leveled-reading books, electronic tablets to STEM Data Acquisition Lab Equipment, and noise-canceling headphones.

“We are honored to partner with our staff and community to make this happen,” said Stan Green, president of the Camdenton Education Foundation. These grants are made possible through gracious, Camdenton staff payroll deductions and fundraising through Elegant Evening to award these grants that total over $6,000.00. Since inception, $36,934 has been awarded for 30, very deserving grants.

Camdenton Educator, Sherry Marose, explains that with her newly awarded Chromebooks, “It is so exciting to watch as the students engage in cooperative learning! This Classroom Impact Grant will make a positive contribution for our students to initiate the necessary soft skills of collaborating with their peers while fostering a student-driven learning environment.”
