Four visitors to Lake of the Ozarks received minor injuries, and the captain was arrested, after the boat struck the shoreline at the 26 mile marker of the main channel Tuesday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol incident report, Jacob S. Ransom of Ballwin, Missouri was driving a 2014 Mastercraft upstream and struck the shoreline. The vessel took on water and overturned around 10:13 p.m. May 15, 2018 in Camden County.

The 20-year-old operator received minor injuries and refused treatment.

Passengers Adriana J. Cortes-Thach, 20, of O’Fallon, Missouri; Danielle S. Feigenbaum, 20, of Chesterfield, Missouri; and Brian Troy, 19, of Lake Forest, Illinois also received minor injuries and all refused treatment.

The incident report indicates no one was wearing a lifejacket. 

The vessel had extensive damage. 

Ransom was arrested at 11:36 p.m. May 15 for boating while intoxicated, possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana, failure to exercise the highest degree of care of a watercraft and minor visibly intoxicated. He was taken to the Camden County jail.
