A 36-year-old Eldon man was killed in a crash on Highway 242 Saturday night.
Timothy R. Mantle was driving pronounced deceased at the scene at 12:32 a.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, but the wreck occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
The MSHP crash report states the accident occurred on Highway 242 east of Staton Drive in Miller County. Mantle was driving a 2014 Ford F150 without a seatbelt on. As the pickup attempted to overtake another eastbound vehicle on the highway, Mantle reportedly lost control of the pickup which ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Mantle was ejected from the vehicle.
The pickup was described as totaled and was towed from the scene.
According to the MSHP report, this crash was Troop F region’s second roadway fatality in May and its 19th in 2018.
Lake Ozark Police Department assisted the MSHP with the incident.
