Doug M. Vinson, 74, of Maroa, Illinois formerly of Clinton, Illinois and formerly of Camdenton and Macks Creek, Missouri passed away at 9 p.m. May 5, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Doug M. Vinson, 74, of Maroa, Illinois formerly of Clinton, Illinois and formerly of Camdenton and Macks Creek, Missouri passed away at 9 p.m. May 5, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Doug was born December 30, 1943 in Clinton, Illinois, the son of Walter and Martha (Davis) Vinson. He married Sandra Fortner July 1, 1967 in Clinton. She passed away June 15, 2012. He married Pam Parker September 16, 2017 in Clinton.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Vinson, Maroa, Illinois; children, Brian (Kimberly) Vinson, Linn Creek, Missouri, David (Traci) Vinson, Camdenton, Missouri; step-son, David (Miranda) Florey, Pontiac, Illinois; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Doug served his country from 1966-1968 in the Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, driving trucks, and playing and singing with his guitar. He formerly retired from Scott’s Concrete.

Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Illinois with Bob Sheets officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, Illinois with military honors. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
