Co-Mo Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors has selected Sean Friend as interim CEO/General Manager. Friend takes the reins as the cooperative says goodbye to CEO/General Manager Ken Johnson who was selected as the next Rural Utility Service (RUS) Administrator.

Friend will be taking on additional responsibilities until a new CEO/General Manager can be hired. Co-Mo Electric’s board of directors has already started a nationwide search for the cooperative’s next CEO/General Manager. This process is expected to take several months.

Friend brings a vast array of skills and knowledge to Co-Mo Electric. He is a 2008 graduate of College of the Ozarks with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He furthered his education in 2010 at Columbia College with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

He began his cooperative career at Intercounty Electric in Licking, Mo in July of 2008. There he was responsible for the cooperative’s annual operating and capital budget, financial forecasts, RUS loan applications and more. He also was responsible for the cooperative’s accounting department and member accounts department.

In 2013, he began his career at Co-Mo Electric as Director of Finance. He also holds the title of Vice President of Finance for Co-Mo Connect. He’s responsible for the oversight of the financial health of both organizations.
