Four suspects in two recent thefts of alcohol valued at a total of nearly $2,400 have been arrested and charged with felony stealing.

According to a press release from the Camdenton Police Department, the suspects are: 

•Brandon Gates, 25, a black male from East St. Louis

•Charnee Thomas, 20, a black female from Belleville, Illinois

•Christina Hams, 25, a black female from Baltimore, Maryland

•Twanna Trotter, 19, a black female from Belleville, Illinois.

Two alleged thefts occurred from Gerbes in Camdenton.

Around 11:10 a.m. April 2, Camdenton police officers responded to Gerbes Shopping Center in regards to a theft believed to have occurred at 8 p.m. March 30. Approximately $907 worth of alcohol had reportedly been stolen. 

The press release states that security video showed four subjects leaving the store in a dark-colored four-door sedan. 

A similar theft had reportedly occurred at Gerbes on March 10 around 1:10 p.m., involving an alleged $1,492 worth of alcohol. 

A vehicle description was issued to law enforcement agencies, and the car was stopped by the Osage Beach Police Department. All stolen alcohol was allegedly found and recovered from the vehicle and the suspects were placed under arrest and later charged.

According to the press release, law enforcement has discussed with Gerbes’ management ways to improve security and surveillance in an attempt to curb this type of crime.
