We in the Second district have been forced to drive on substandard roads. We have been the ones to ante up for car repairs while waiting on something to change and each year it doesn't. Each election cycle we are promised something will be done. We are still waiting.

Once again the fire department is asking for more money, the slogan is we need firefighters. I'm not picking on the fire dept. It’s been about 3 years since they have pushed for more money.  I'm sure the fire dept. has adequate reasons to justify asking for more money.

But ... we as citizens get to say yea or nay. I say that we come up with a different plan. We in the Second district have been forced to drive on substandard roads. We have been the ones to ante up for car repairs while waiting on something to change and each year it doesn't. Each election cycle we are promised something will be done. We are still waiting. I say we Bull up and say no to tax hikes unless we have a solution to the road problem in Camden County. I would much rather see a separate tax like a special road district that Horseshoe Bend has that is 100 percent for road repairs. Instead of the Fire Dept. or the School coming to us asking us for more money we put this issue to them. Basically you want more money help our Road department go after the tax we need to fix our roads. Use the same tricks Congress have been pulling for years.  The only way to get anything done in the Second district is if we become active and when you vote that's action. I am positive the money we might have to pay in taxes will level out when we are not spending extra money on car repairs. When we actually get 50,000 miles out of a set of tires.  When we are not replacing front end parts because of bad roads. It’s time we get serious about how and where we want our tax dollars allocated  and it’s time we have decent roads.
