A Barnett teen was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash in Morgan County Friday afternoon.

Melinda J. Villa, 17, was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. She was the driver of a 2008 Ford F250 that overturned on Route W around 3 p.m. March 30, 2018, according to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Passenger Tiyanna A. Cooper, 20, of Barnett was a passenger in the pickup truck. She received what was described as minor injuries and was also taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.

The crash report stated that the pickup was northbound when it went off the right side of the roadway, was overcorrected and swerved off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle went down an embankment, striking a tree and overturning about one-half mile south of Indian Creek Lane.

The report indicated Villa was not wearing a seatbelt and Cooper was.

The pickup was described as totaled and was towed from the scene.
