The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed that a suspect involved in a brief chase in Lake Ozark Tuesday night had not been located as of Wednesday morning.
Around 10 p.m., a trooper conducted a registration check on a vehicle wanted for previously fleeing from law enforcement. The trooper followed the vehicle until backup could arrive, but the vehicle pulled into a business on the Bagnell Dam Strip.
According to information from the MSHP, as the trooper began to make contact, the vehicle in question sped off. It was found stopped a short time later near Horseshoe Bend Parkway and Bagnell Dam Blvd. where the driver fled on foot. The passenger was detained.
MSHP troopers were assisted by Lake Ozark Police in a search but the driver had not been located as of 2 a.m. Wednesday.
The MSHP is not releasing the identity of the suspect at this time, but he is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, 52 years of age, who stands 5'6" tall and weighs 137 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, tan shirt and blue jeans.
