The Camden County Assessor’s Office has issued a warning to residents after a report of a possible imposter falsely claiming to be a field inspector.

Camden County Assessor Marty McGuire said residents can easily determine if someone is from the assessor’s office. Employees out doing field inspections for the 2019 re-assessment all have name badges, work only between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and drive county vehicles that are clearly marked.

McGuire said field investigators will be out inspecting and evaluating property over the next nine months as re-assessment gets underway. If anyone encounters someone they believe is an imposter, they should immediately notify the assessor at 573-346-4440, extension 1251.
