Gravois firefighters were able to save two homes from fire last week.
According to information provided by the Gravois Fire Protection District, crews were able to limit damage to a manufactured home at 24278 Hill Road on March 14 and another house at Highway P and Cardinal Road on March 15.
The GFPD was dispatched to Hill Road Road last Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival crews found a previous outside fire had rekindled, the press release stated. The fire had spread to other ground fuel and extended to the side of the home. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to a portion of siding and sheathing. The fire did not extend to the interior of the structure and was quickly extinguished the fire. Eight units and nine personnel responded to this incident.
Around 10 a.m. Thursday, the GFPD was dispatched to the Highway P fire. Upon arrival, the press release stated that crews found a large stump burning at the rear of the structure as well as fire-damaged stairs leading to a screened-in porch and some damaged siding. The fire was quickly extinguished without any further damage. Five units and five personnel responded to this incident.
