Spring is right around the corner, and there are a lot of events happening at Lake of the Ozarks. Check out or list of 10 you won't want to miss.
The 5th annual QuarterMania auction and fundraiser will be held March 25 at the Inn at Grand Glaize. Doors open at 1 p.m. with the auction starting at 2. QuarterMania is a fundraiser for the Heart of the Ozarks Professional & Business Women. Tickets are $15 in advance ($20 at the door) and include an appetizer buffet and a paddle for access to bidding in the quarter auction. More than 100 items are expected to be up for grabs from golf packages to gift baskets and certificates to Lake area businesses. A cash bar is provided. This is a fun event where items are bid on with quarters with the paddle and a lottery-style system. Come see what you can win! 2. Go Blue! BBQ Bash
This is a fun barbecue contest held at the popular lakefront RedHead Lakeside Grill. Go Blue! BBQ Bash starts at noon April 7 to benefit the Child Advocacy Council. Enter a team to compete for $45. Judging will take place at 12:30 p.m. with awards announced at 2:30 p.m. Go to www.kidsharbormo.org for registration forms or for more information.
3. Wicked Wine Run
The named says it all with this one! The Wicked Wine Run 5K & 1K will be held April 14 at Seven Springs Winery from 3-9 p.m. The 5K wine run starts at 5 p.m. and includes a celebratory wine at the finish line. The 1K tasting walk starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes four wine tasting stops along the route. Awards will be handed out to top finishers. An after party will include food trucks, a live band and more wine. Cost is $50 for either event or $75 for both if you sign up after March 20. 4. YMCA Spring Dance
Denim & Diamonds in the Wild West is the theme of this year’s Tri-County YMCA Spring Dance March 14. In addition to the traditional dinner and live and silent auctions, a Lake Escape mobile room will provide some interesting, and challenging, entertainment. 5. Dogwood Festival
Old fashioned community fun at its finest can be found at the Lake of the Ozarks mainstay event. From April 19-21, the 66th annual Dogwood Festival will be held around Camdenton with a carnival, crafts, food vendors and lots of various types of entertainment. 6. Spring In-Water Boat Show
The old joke goes that the best days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. If that’s the case, you could have a really great time at the Spring In-Water Boat Show April 20-22. Held at Dog Days in Osage Beach and hosted by the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers, all kinds of new and pre-owned boats will be on display, a seriously enjoyable day for boaters and aspiring boaters. Hours are 1-7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to www.ozarkboatshow.com.
7. LRHS Annual Fun Run
Work out the kinks of winter with a walk or a jog at this annual event May 5 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. All proceeds benefit the Lake Regional Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation department. The 5K Run begins at 8 a.m. and will follow a course from the hospital down Osage Beach Parkway. The Walk will start immediately after the run begins. Chris Cakes of St. Louis will provide a $5 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. Serving will begin at 8 a.m. The breakfast is free to paid participants and children 5 years old and younger. Medals are awarded to top male and female runners in seven age divisions. 8. Spring Harbor Hop
A spring boating classic on Lake of the Ozarks, the 21st annual Spring Harbor Hop will be held May 5 at more than 40 waterfront bars and restaurants. 9. Homegrown Festival
A little something different for the Lake area, Dog Days in Osage Beach will host the Homegrown Festival May 6. The decks and pool area will be lined with tasting booths from some of Missouri's finest breweries and wineries. Enjoy the sampling while being entertained by a variety of local musicians. This event is free and a great way to spend your Sunday afternoon.
10. Home Tour
The Newcomers/Longtimers’ 24th annual Home Tour May 19 offers a sneak peek at some of the fabulous homes of Porto Cima and The Villages. The tour is slightly larger this year with six houses specially-selected for the tour. To date the home tour has raised more than $275,000 for local charities and scholarships.
