Each week, the Lake Sun looks at things to do, try, hear and see at the Lake of the Ozarks. Have a suggestion? E-mail us at newsroom@lakesunonline.com

1. Experience new things together

Lake Career &  Technical Center in Camdenton now offers Dinner for Two classes to enjoy creating a tasty dinner together. Each class is held on a Friday night and makes a great date-night or girls night out. Each class will cook a different entree so you can choose the class that tickles your taste buds. Cost $50 per class (for 2 cooks). Go to https://lctc.camdentonschools.org/ to register or for more information. An artistic person might enjoy one of the many painting or craft classes locally.

2. It's all about the note

Some of the best gifts aren’t necessarily about the gift and are more about the note. A nice note that tells your significant other how you feel, that's longer than a few lines, and possibly comes with something small, but meaningful can be so much more wonderful than that expensive gift.

3. Stroll down memory lane

Been together a while? Dig out mementos, photos, and other things from your shared past. Set them up in a presentation for an at-home date. Play your song and music from when you first met. Alternatively, recreate your first date, how you met, or a significant event from your shared past. If you're married,  recreate your proposal. The most romantic things are the things that remind you of why you're with the one you love.

4. Homemade and from the heart

Homemade gifts don't have to be as elaborate, they can be as simple as a sign with your names on it, finally fixing or making something the other person has wanted or even writing that note and framing it yourself.

5. Fancy dinner for 2

You can’t go wrong with a classic — a romantic dinner for twoat a fancy restaurant. The Lake of the Ozarks has several great restaurants. This Valentine’s Day, HK’s at The Lodge of Four Seasons, for one, is offering a special menu with options like crab cakes and lobster bisque, filet and king crab legs to chocolate covered strawberry cheesecake.
