Lake Regional Health System is pleased to announce the start of a new clinical dietitian manager, Wendy Walker, MPH, R.D., L.D., CNSC.
An important part of Walker’s role is to assess patient’s nutritional and dietary needs and then to collaborate with medical staff and the director of Nutrition Services to ensure those needs are met. She also leads the team of clinical dietitians and serves as a liaison between care providers and food service.
“Wendy brings 20 years of experience in clinical dietitian service, along with dedication and drive to make a difference,” said Robert Ambrose, director of Lake Regional Nutrition Services. “She is committed to providing exceptional care and services to our patients, and we are glad to have her with us.”
A registered dietitian, Walker earned a master’s degree in public health with a nutrition emphasis through an online program with Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia. She also earned a bachelor’s of science in nutrition from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is board certified in nutrition support and spent the last 12 years of her career with Mercy in Lebanon, Missouri. She said she is impressed with the level of care Lake Regional Health System provides patients.
“I am excited to be part of a team of dietitians and diabetic educators who already provide excellent patient care to our community,” she said. “And I look forward to strengthening relationships between our department and other health care providers.”
