Three teens were arrested after allegedly fleeing a home they were attempting to burglarize shortly after midnight Tuesday.

According to a press release from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported burglary-in-progress around 12:24 a.m. January 23, 2018 at a residence on Ginger Road in the Horseshoe Bend area of the county.

The home was occupied as the suspects reportedly attempted to climb through a bedroom window, the press release states. When the suspects saw one of the occupants, they fled the scene in an older-model black Silverado pickup truck with a loud exhaust.

A truck matching this description was stopped shortly after on nearby Carol Road. The vehicle had three occupants who were all taken into custody.

Colton Allen Sphar, 19, of Cowden, Ill. and Dalton Lee Allen, 17, of Shelbyville, Illinois were transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Center. 

Sphar has been charged with first degree burglary and operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility. A bond of $25,000 surety was set.

Allen was charged with first degree burglary with a bond of $25,000 surety.

The third subject was a white juvenile male, aged 15, from Shelbyville, Missouri. He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
