“Jeff Kyle and Ashley Hanks, the high school directors, do an amazing job with these young students and always present an enjoyable concert,” according to OJS President Jack Schaumburg. “The musical arrangements give many of the students an opportunity to do fine solo work and show off their talents.”

Three jazz bands from the region will be featured in a special free concert in January.
The Ozark Jazz Society is hosting the Eldon High School Jazz Band, School of the Osage Jazz Band and the 339th Army Brass Band out of Fort Wood at the Inn at Grand Glaize in Osage Beach on January 28. The concert is free to both society members and the general public.

Following the two local high school bands will be the Army band. While the members vary from year to year depending on where soldiers are stationed, this group always puts on a great show, said Schaumburg.
“I’m looking forward to this year’s ensemble and I hope everyone will make an effort to attend to support our youth and the USA military band,” he added.
Prior to the concert which starts at 6:30 p.m. is an optional buffet dinner from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Reservations are required for the meal which costs $15 per person, including tax and gratuity. The buffet will include a garden salad, chicken mornay, chicken breast topped with a white wine mushroom sauce, rice pilaf, vegetable blend, fresh-baked rolls, cherry cobbler, coffee and iced tea. A cash bar will be open from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
