Two Montreal residents were transported to Lake Regional Hospital, described with minor injuries, after two vehicles collided Wednesday morning on US-54 and Illinois St. SE, according to a press release from the Camdenton Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:37 a.m. on December 20, 2017. Two witnesses interviewed at the scene both stated there was a delivery truck stopped in the outside lane of eastbound US-54, awaiting to turn onto Illinois St. SE.

The crash apparently occurred, according to the release, as a black 2005 Dodge Neon being driven by a 31-year-old from Montreal was attempting to cross US-54 from Illinois St. SE and pulled into the path of a 2017 Mercedes Benz passenger van being driven by a 48-year-old man from Osage Beach that was traveling eastbound in the inside lane of US-54.

The Dodge Neon reportedly pulled out in front of the delivery truck and proceeded to cross US-54 into the path of the passenger van.

The 31-year-old Montreal male, and a 33-year-old female passenger, also from Montreal, were both treated for minor injuries. The Osage Beach man claimed no injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damages.
