A man wanted in Clay County was arrested near Eldon Tuesday and is now facing more charges in Miller County.

According to a press release from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a complaint of suspicious activity outside of Eldon December 5, 2017 and made contact with Darren Jameson. Through further investigation, they learned that Jameson had several outstanding warrants out of Clay County in the Kansas City area.

When Jameson was taken into custody on the warrants, deputies allegedly found a large amount of methamphetamine on his person.

He has now been charged by Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Winfrey with second degree drug trafficking and felony delivery of a controlled substance. Jameson is currently being held at the Miller County Adult Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Sheriff Louie Gregoire took the opportunity to remind the public that this is an example of why it is important  to report suspicious activity.
