The Morgan County Republican Central Committee is reporting multiple openings with three of its six townships seeing vacancies.

According to a press release from committeewoman Amaryah Bennett of Osage Township, “the committee is vacant in a number of seats and is reaching out to our contacts in the search for eager political activists and able bodied citizens who might be interested in filling these seats and helping their community in its political arena.”

Morgan County Republicans are looking for one man and one woman to serve on the committee from Mill Creek Township and Buffalo Township. One woman is needed from Osage Township as well.

The six townships of the Morgan County Republican Central Committee are Richland, the Florence, northwest county area; Mill Creek, the Syracuse, Glensted, northeast county area; Haw Creek, Stover, west central county area; Moreau, the Versailles, Barnett, east central county area; Buffalo, the Ivy Bend, southwest county area; and Osage, the Rocky Mount, Laurie, Gravois Mills, southeast county area.

The purpose of the committee, as authorized by the Missouri Republican Party and state statutes, is to represent the Republican-minded citizens of the county and see that local and national public offices are filled by responsible conservative candidates.

It should be noted that these committee seats are elected offices. While the present committee has the authority to fill vacancies via appointment, all present committee men and women and anyone wishing to hold a position on the committee must run for the office in the August 2018 election.
