Residents attend for a number of reasons, whether they don’t want to cook a large meal, can’t afford to purchase one, or are without family members this time of the year.

Parishioners and community members are preparing for the 12th annual St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Free Thanksgiving Dinner to be held from 11am to 2 pm on November 23, 2017.

Volunteers from other parishes around the Lake Area help the Camdenton church put on the event that feeds approximately 350-400 people. Community members of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend the full course meal with traditional holiday foods and even dessert.

The food is cooked and prepared in the lower level of the church where decorated tables will be set up for guests.

Organizers with the event said anyone can attend for any reason to share a meal with fellow community members and often times will assist in the cleanup efforts afterward or delivering meals to homebound residents.

Residents attend for a number of reasons, whether they don’t want to cook a large meal, can’t afford to purchase one, or are without family members this time of the year.

Anyone wishing to have a meal delivered, or help with the event, can call Lois Wiley at 573-317-1514 or Peggie Johnson at 573-346-1914 for more information. St. Anthony’s Catholic Church is located at 1874 N. Business Route 5.
