The victim told interviewers the alleged assaults began when she was 16-years-old and the defendant was 26-years-old, but was unsure how many times the sexual assaults occurred.

A 27-year-old Camdenton man has been arrested and charged with four felonies related to the alleged sexual assault of a developmentally disabled juvenile victim, according to court documents.

A warrant for the arrest of John Lewis Gregory was issued on November 6, 2017 and served yesterday by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office. Bond has been set at $100,000 cash, according to CaseNet.com

Gregory is charged with first degree rape or attempted rape, an unclassified felony; second degree assault, a Class C felony; armed criminal action, an unclassified felony; and first degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, a unclassified felony.

According to the probable cause statement obtained by the Lake Sun, a CCSO deputy spoke with the victim’s mother and guardian whom informed the law enforcement officer of alleged sexual assaults involving the defendant and her unidentified 17-year-old daughter “with a diagnosed mental disability which places her mentality to that of a 10-year-old child.”

A subsequent interview was held at Kid’s Harbor in which the victim told the interviewer of multiple occurrences of the defendant having sexual intercourse with her in Gregory’s bedroom, his truck and in the woods during motorcycle rides.

“(Redacted) said she did not give John permission, did not like it, told him no and fought him, but always lost,” according to the court document.

The victim told interviewers the alleged assaults began when she was 16-years-old and the defendant was 26-years-old, but was unsure how many times the sexual assaults occurred. The document describes various alleged sexual acts performed on the victim.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim gave directions to the locations of the alleged assaults that included the Hugo Cemetery and Circle A Ranch Road. The victim also alleged the defendant had struck her with the butt of a rifle, leaving a bruise on her leg, after remembering shooting the black firearm in the past.

On November 5, 2017, a search warrant was executed at Gregory’s residence and the investigator stated that he was able to verify the layout of the bedroom described by the victim.

Gregory was interviewed at the CCSO and allegedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim approximately 10 to 12 times at his residence, her residence, in his truck and in the woods as well as during three to four hour motorcycle rides, according to the court document.

The defendant allegedly told investigators the sexual conduct occurred over the course of a year and had ceased seven to eight months ago.

A defense attorney has yet to be assigned to Gregory nor is there currently any scheduled court hearings, according to CaseNet. Camden County Prosecuting Attorney Michael Gilley filed the charges and will prosecute the case.
