Mr. Knighton served in the U.S. Air Force and then received his engineering degree from Kansas University. He spent thirty-five years in management with Westinghouse Corporation, eventually retiring in 1986. He was known to many for lovingly spending time with his family and friends at the Lake of the Ozarks home that he and his wife of sixty-nine years owned.

George Knighton, Jr., 91, NHC Osage Beach, passed away October 18, 2017. He was born March 16, 1926 to the late George T. Knighton and Lorene Faulkner Knighton in Platte City, Missouri.
He and Betty Lee Kalousek were married September 5, 1948 in the Kansas University Chapel at Lawrence, Kansas.
Mr. Knighton served in the U.S. Air Force and then received his engineering degree from Kansas University. He spent thirty-five years in management with Westinghouse Corporation, eventually retiring in 1986. He was known to many for lovingly spending time with his family and friends at the Lake of the Ozarks home that he and his wife of sixty-nine years owned. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and was able to fix anything that needed it.
In addition to his devoted wife, Betty, he is survived by their four children: Kent and Cheryl of New Portland, Maine; Sherry of Columbia, Missouri; Curt and Sally of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Bob and Nancy of Angola, New York; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 12 at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie. Visitation will be from 2–3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus or Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church.
