Washington, Mo. driver arrested for stolen firearm, drugs near Malibu Road Nov. 2.
A driver was arrested on multiple charges, including one for a stolen firearm, while a passenger fled on foot during a traffic stop in Osage Beach Thursday afternoon.
According to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a trooper stopped a vehicle on Osage Beach Parkway near Malibu Road around 1:20 p.m. Nov. 2 due to an issue with the license plate. After the vehicle pulled over and stopped, the male passenger took off running southbound toward the lake.
The passenger was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He was not found, and the investigation into his actions continues.
The driver, however, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. and was taken to the Camden County Justice Center and placed on a 24-hour hold.
Chase A. Raithel, 35, of Washington, Mo. was arrested for possessing stolen property (a gun), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of less than 10 grams of synthetic cannabinoid - narcotic, unlawful use of a weapon, failure to display valid plates and no seatbelt.
