The volunteer carving instructors wanted to pass on the art of carving to the children while using safe carving tools. Club member Bud Murray designed the wooden tools and made foam cut-outs for the project.

The Lake of the Ozarks Woodcarvers Club sponsored a children’s foam carving class through The Lake Career and Technical Center in October.

The volunteer carving instructors wanted to pass on the art of carving to the children while using safe carving tools. Club member Bud Murray designed the wooden tools and made foam cut-outs for the project.

Instructors Tom Lease, Doug Bibles, Stan Kasiske, Pam Karl, and Bud and Carol Murray guided the students in carving and painting their choice of a penguin or an elephant.

The Lake of the Ozarks Woodcarvers Club meets the third Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Camdenton United Methodist Church. Beginners are welcome. Also, there is open carving weekly at the senior center at the following places: the new senior center in Osage Beach on Osage Beach Parkway on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. and also the first and second Thursdays.
