Danny A. Love, 43, and Chevy Love, 11, received injuries described as minor in the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report after the accident that occurred around 3:10 p.m. Oct. 15 on Highway 87 at Lyons Road.

An Eldon man and child were injured Sunday afternoon when the ATV they were on was struck by a car in Miller County.

Danny A. Love, 43, and Chevy Love, 11, received injuries described as minor in the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report after the accident that occurred around 3:10 p.m. Oct. 15 on Highway 87 at Lyons Road.

The report indicated Danny Love was not wearing a helmet, but the child was. Both Danny and Chevy Love were taken by ambulance to Capital Region Hospital for treatment.

The 2004 Yamaha Blaster ATV was stopped on Highway 87 Southbound waiting to make a left turn, according to the crash report, when a 2013 Nissan Altima attempted to pass in the northbound lane. The collision occurred as the ATV initiated the left turn. The car struck the side of the ATV, ejecting both occupants from the Yamaha, the report states.

The driver of the Nissan was Steven M. Damico, 29, of Overland Park, Kan. He was not injured.

According to the report, he was listed as wearing a seatbelt.

The report listed the Nissan with minor damage and the ATV with moderate damage.
