A 16-year-old Russellville, Mo. teen succumbed to fatal injuries suffered during a two-vehicle crash that also injured a pedestrian Wednesday morning in Moniteau County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

A 16-year-old Russellville, Mo. teen succumbed to fatal injuries suffered during a two-vehicle crash that also injured a pedestrian Wednesday morning in Moniteau County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. 

Elizabeth A. Eidson, 16, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Moniteau County Coroner Marty Ramsdell at approximately 8:10 a.m. on October 11, 2017. Next of kin has been notified. She was transported to Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. 

The crash occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. on MO-C, roughly one mile east of MO-87 in Moniteau County. 

Kory A. King, 24, of Jefferson City, suffered injuries described as moderate after he was struck as a pedestrian by Eidson's vehicle and transported to St. Mary's Hospital by Mid-Mo Ambulance. 

According to the crash report, a 2018 Peterbilt trash truck being driven by 53-year-old Jeffery D. Moad, of Eugene, Mo., was stopped in the eastbound lane of Route C when it was struck in the rear by a 2007 Pontiac G6 being driven by Eidson. 

"Vehicle 1 (Pontiac) struck pedestrian (worker from trash truck) as vehicle 1 travelled off the right side of the roadway," the report stated. 

This was Troop F's 3rd fatality for the month of October and 45th overall for 2017. 

Moad was not listed with any injuries or wearing a seat belt. Eidson was listed as wearing a seat belt. The Pontiac was listed as totaled while the trash truck was listed with minor damage.
