Two local law enforcement officers were recently awarded plaques of honor from the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Central Missouri chapter for their work in keeping impaired drivers off roadways.

Miller County Sheriff's Office Cpl. Scott Patrick and Lake Ozark Police Department officer Dylan Green received the plaques during an October award ceremony hosted by MADD.

The Heroes For Heroes program was created three years ago by MADD-CM President Robbie Pace-Courtright with the awards usually going to the top DWI-arresting officer or those who are especially dedicated to keeping roadways safe from impaired drivers.

The plaque reads, "In recognition of Impaired Driver Enforcement and Roadway Safety for the Year of 2017." In total, 33 law enforcement officers were honored during the dinner and plaque presentation on October 5, 2017 at St. Martins Knights of Columbus Hall in Jefferson City.
