A 39-year-old Versailles man succumbed to fatal injuries following a one-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

A 39-year-old Versailles man succumbed to fatal injuries following a one-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. 

Jason M. Cleaves was pronounced deceased by Morgan County Coroner M. B. Jones at the scene of the crash at approximately 6:52 p.m. on October 7, 2017. Next of kin has been notified, according to the report. 

The crash occurred at approximately 5:46 p.m. while Cleaves was driving a 1995 Ford Contour northbound on Route J at Peter Pan Drive in Morgan County. 

"Vehicle travelled off the right side of the roadway. Vehicle went airborne, struck a concrete bridge support and came to rest in a creek bed," the preliminary report concluded. 

Cleaves was transported to Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. The vehicle was listed as totaled. 

This was Troop F's second fatality for the month of October and 44th overall for the year.
