The Miller County Health Center has announced that a contract to continue to provide WIC services for federal fiscal year 2018 has been signed with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

WIC is a federal grant program that is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture.

The Miller County Health Center has announced that a contract to continue to provide WIC services for federal fiscal year 2018 has been signed with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Under the terms of the contract, the Miller County Health Center will be able to serve 669 persons eligible for WIC each month.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a special supplemental nutrition program providing services to pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children up to their 5th birthday based on a nutritional risk and income eligibility. WIC helps mothers and young children eat well and stay healthy.

The primary services provided are:

Breastfeeding education and support

Nutrition and health education

Personalized nutrition counseling

Referrals to other health programs

Checks to buy nutritious foods

WIC is available at Miller County Health Center. The office is located at 2125 Highway 52, which is just west of Tuscumbia. WIC appointments are available Monday through Friday.
