A 57-year-old Stover man was hospitalized after his vehicle was struck by a loose trailer involved in a series of accidents Monday evening, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

A 57-year-old Stover man was hospitalized after his vehicle was struck by a loose trailer involved in a series of accidents Monday evening, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. 

Russell A. Sharp suffered injuries described as moderate and was transported to Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City. 

The crashes occurred at approximately 5:38 p.m. on October 2, 2017 while three vehicles were traveling on MO-52, roughly 38-feet east of Gates Road in Morgan County. 

According to the report, a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado with an attached towed unit was being driven eastbound by 15-year-old Jeffrey A. Martin, of Barnett, when the vehicle made a left turn and was struck in the towed unit by a 2014 Ford F150 also being driven eastbound by Travis W. Judd, 27, of Independence. 

The towed unit came loose and struck a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven westbound by Sharp. 

Neither Martin or Judd were listed with any injuries. All three were listed as wearing seat belts. The Silverado was listed with extensive damage while the other two vehicles were listed as totaled.
