Only at Lake of the Ozarks? Mid-County firefighters rescued a woman from a hill tram Monday morning.

At 9:43 a.m. Sept. 18, the MCFPD reports that firefighters were dispatched to Niangua Oaks Lane, south of the Greenview area of Camden County, for a report of an adult female trapped on a hill tram between her residence and the lake. A hill tram is an individual tram elevator system that can help people get up and down steep hills.

Firefighters arrived to find a woman trapped on a stalled hill tram. She was not injured. The hill tram had stopped working due to an electrical issue and would not restart.

MCFPD personnel used a ground ladder to assist the woman off of the hill tram and to safety.

Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 10:36 a.m.

MCFPD would like to remind everyone with a hill tram to have it checked and serviced annually or per their manufacturer’s requirements.
