Yes, the circus is coming to the Hillbilly fair this year. Los Moralitos Circus includes 4th generation circus performers taking great pride in putting together a first class professional performance. They showcase professional tumbling, acrobats, unicycles, aerialists, and their own very funny clown. A very high-level energy show you'll want to check out.

The Hillbilly Fair is this weekend in Laurie. This year's event features your favorite fair classics as well as some new twists. Here's 5 highlights for the 2017 fair along with the schedule of events.

1. The Circus?!

Yes, the circus is coming to the Hillbilly fair this year. Los Moralitos Circus includes 4th generation circus performers taking great pride in putting together a first class professional performance for children of all ages. They showcase professional tumbling, acrobats, unicycles, aerialists, and their own very funny clown. A very high-level energy show you'll want to check out. The Hawthorn Dance & Gymnastics Aerial Flyers will also be a great show to watch. And, oh yes, they'll still have the carnival for the kiddos.

2. The Parade

Who doesn't love a parade? The Hillbilly Fair is at 10 a.m. Saturday, and is a great one. The hillbilly theme always offers up some great opportunities for creative and funny floats. Get to Laurie early to make sure you find a spot along Highway 5 to take in this fair tradition.

3. Contests

From the Hillbilly Fish Casting Contest on Friday evening and the Backseat Drivers Contest on both days to the Kiddie Peddle Pull and Pea Picker, Lil Sprouts, Lil Mr. and Mrs. Hillbilly for kids on Saturday, there are some fun contests for kids and adults alike. Also, get a team together for Saturday's Tug of War contest.

4. A different kind of car show

The Rat Rod Show on Saturday is looking for the rattiest rods and the hillbilliest of cars. You'll want to check out the patina on these supped up classics.

5. Live music at two beer gardens

Ronnie, Modesto (Ponch & the Pork & Beans), J, Davey Ray and Richard and Money for Nothin’ are some great local bands who are the featured live music entertainment for the fair's two beer gardens within the 27 acres of the Laurie Hillbilly Fairgrounds.
