The workshop will meet on six consecutive Fridays, Sept. 22 through Oct. 27, at Osage Beach Senior Center in Osage Beach from 12:30-3 p.m. The workshop is free of charge and open to persons with a chronic conditions, and to persons caring for someone with a chronic condition.

The University of Missouri Extension in Camden County and Central Missouri Regional Arthritis Center are offering the six-week workshop "Show Me Better Health" licensed by Stanford University. 

This workshop will teach persons with chronic conditions and their caregivers the tools needed to design their own self-management program so they can live a longer and healthier life.       

Workshop participants will learn tips on how to eat well and exercise; how to manage their symptoms; how to relax and handle difficult emotions; develop effective problem-solving skills; how to work well with their doctor; and how to manage their medications. They will receive a copy of the workshop manual Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions and a relaxation cd.
