Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F is holding a boater safety certification course from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Troop F Headquarters located at 2920 North Shamrock Road, Jefferson City.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F is holding a boater safety certification course from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Troop F Headquarters located at 2920 North Shamrock Road, Jefferson City. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack and lunch to the training. The maximum class size is 35 people.

There is no fee for this course; however, students are required to preregister online, as seating will be limited and notification may be sent in the event the course is canceled.

Missouri law requires any person born after Jan. 1, 1984, to carry a boating safety certification card along with a picture ID anytime they operate a vessel, which includes personal watercraft, on Missouri lakes. Any student who successfully passes this course will be eligible to order the boating safety certification card, which costs $15.
