The accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on US 54 about 364 feet west of Sunny Slope Road, west of Camdenton.

A Camdenton man was killed Tuesday when the pickup he was driving ran into the back a Freightliner.

William T. Kaifer, 74, was pronounced deceased on scene at 12:19 p.m. Aug. 29 by Camden County Medical Examiner Annie M. Wilson, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. He was taken to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton.

The accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on US 54 about 364 feet west of Sunny Slope Road, west of Camdenton.

A Freightliner driven by Anthony L. Seymore, 58, of Eldon was stopped in the westbound lane in a construction zone when the westbound GMC Sierra driven by Kaifer ran into the rear of the semi, according to the crash report.

Seymore received injuries described as minor. He was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.

The crash report stated the pickup was totaled and the Freightliner had moderate damage. Seymore was wearing a seatbelt, and Kaifer was not, the report indicated.

This was MSHP Troop F region’s first fatality for August and its 34th for 2017.
