According to the report, the driver "fell asleep, crossed the center of the road, ran off the left side of the road and struck a private ditch, vehicle then continued moving forward, began sliding and struck a tree."

A 38-year-old Eldon woman suffered serious injuries after reportedly falling asleep at the wheel before striking several objects Wednesday evening in Miller County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Dianna M. Dawson was driving a 1985 Toyota Corolla at approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 23, 2017, southbound on Route Y north of Oak Road when the one-vehicle wreck occurred. 

Dawson, listed as wearing a safety belt, was transported by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital. 

According to the report, the driver "fell asleep, crossed the center of the road, ran off the left side of the road and struck a private ditch, vehicle then continued moving forward, began sliding and struck a tree."
