An unidentified adult male was rescued by the Mid-County Fire Protection District after falling approximately 75-feet down the side of the island at Ha Ha Tonka State Park Wednesday afternoon.

An unidentified adult male was rescued by the Mid-County Fire Protection District after falling approximately 75-feet down the side of the island at Ha Ha Tonka State Park Wednesday afternoon. 

According to a press release from MCFPD Fire Chief Scott Frandsen, units were dispatched to a technical rescue at approximately 2:31 p.m. on August 23, 2017 regarding an injured male who had fallen. 

Firefighters were able to load the patient into a stokes basket so the patient could be transported from the island to the parking lot where he was then loaded into an ambulance. The patient was then transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the release. 

All units cleared the scene at approximately 3:31 p.m. 

MCFPD was assisted by the Camden County Ambulance District and Camden County Sheriff's Office.
