According to the report, "Lake Ozark police vehicle had emergency lights activated on US 54 eastbound blocking the driving lane for a large escort entering the highway."

A Lake Ozark Police Department officer was involved in a three-vehicle crash while helping a large escort enter the highway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. 

No injuries were reported. 

Dylan G. Green, 23, of Lake Ozark, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, with emergency lights activated, at approximately 3:08 p.m. on August 23, 2017 when the crash occurred on US-54 eastbound at MO-242. 

According to the report, "Lake Ozark police vehicle had emergency lights activated on US 54 eastbound blocking the driving lane for a large escort entering the highway." 

A 2012 Dodge Turbo Diesel being driven by 65-year-old Stephen E. Lemens, of Sunrise Beach, "was merging onto US 54 from the entrance ramp when" a 1991 International 9400 6X4 semi-truck being driven by 30-year-old William G. Hawkins, of Perry, Mo., "failed to yield to the emergency vehicle." 

The semi-truck "swerved off the right side of the roadway striking emergency vehicle 1 and vehicle 2," the report concluded. 

All three involved were listed as wearing safety devices. The Lake Ozark PD vehicle and semi-truck were listed with minor damage while the Dodge was listed with moderate damage.
