After initialing receiving a disturbing report of an alleged crime occurring, the Camden County Sheriff's Office discovered an emaciated mother and her litter of puppies. Deputies also helped locate a man who lost some cash and an important document recovered by some caring neighbors.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017, CCSO deputies responded to a report of a group of juveniles allegedly "setting puppies on fire" in the Stoutland area, according to a press release.

However, the juveniles in question may have been involved in a vandalism incident at a business in Laclede County and when deputies arrived to the location they found a "very emaciated momma and her six puppies that were no more than five days old."

"The deputies placed the mamma and her pups in the squad and transported them to a temporary holding facility in Camdenton. On the morning of 8/11/2017, the CCSO Animal Control Officer managed to find a facility that will take the family until the pups can get adopted," the release stated." The runt of the litter is half the size of its brothers and sisters and will require additional help to survive. If you have any information about this situation, we would certainly like to hear about it."

In another bit of good news shared by the CCSO, a young woman was jogging on Horseshoe Bend in Camden County Saturday afternoon when she found $200 of cash, a social security card and some other items. The woman and her father brought the items to the CCSO who were able to locate the man through Facebook and message him. The owner said he had lost his wallet, which he found, but not the contents.

"Thank you to our wonderful Camden County residents," CCSO said on Facebook.
