Among the Ohio native's credentials is earning the Editor & Publisher magazine's "25 Under 35" Award which recognizes young, talented individuals for their leadership in journalism and multimedia.

Dave Cuddihy brings more than a dozen years of media experience to Lake Media as he joins the team as publisher.

The native of Ohio comes to the Lake area from the coastal community of Wilmington, N.C., where he was most recently director of advertising for StarNews Media, also owned by GateHouse Media. Cuddihy also spent more than four years with the Naples Daily News, an E.W. Scripps Company property at the time.

Among his credentials is earning the Editor & Publisher magazine's "25 Under 35" Award which recognizes young, talented individuals for their leadership in journalism and multimedia.

Cuddihy was also named a member of the GateHouse Advisory Council for Propel Marketing (now ThriveHive). ThriveHive was recently named Best Digital Agency in the 2017 Local Media Digital Innovation Contest.

“On the marketing side, we have a responsibility to help local businesses thrive — no pun intended,” Cuddihy said. “We have the ability to reach any businesses’ target audience, with a compelling message, at the right moment.”

Another area of focus will be community involvement.

"I look forward to getting involved in the Lake community, something I believe is important whether it's with chambers of commerce, youth sports, charitable organizations or other ways to give back to the community," Cuddihy said.

He said he's impressed with Lake Media's award-winning editorial success and leadership in the Lake community, and is excited about working with the editorial and sales teams to expand on that successful performance in the area.

He and his wife, Kayla, and son, Riley, 5, are excited to relocate to the area soon.

Lake Media consists of the Lake Sun daily newspaper and LakeNewsOnline, FOCUS and Westside Star weekly newspapers, Lake Lifestyles bi-monthly magazine, Vacation News and other niche publications.
