The 34th Annual National Night Out National Night Out in Osage Beach will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the Osage Beach City Park.

The NNO is a crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and locally sponsored by the City of Osage Beach Police Department, Target and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 101.

There will be games, music, face painting, bounce houses, prizes and more. Do you like eating donuts? How many do you think you can eat? You can find out at our Donuts on a String Eating Contest. Thanks to Casey's General Store, there will be plenty.

During the event, OBPD officials will have groups of people line up by donuts on strings at about mouth level and try to eat an entire donut while keeping their hands behind their backs without letting the donut fall off their string. The first one to finish eating their donut without letting it fall to the ground will be the winner. This has not been done before at NNO.

Wish List donations for Citizens against Domestic Violence (CADV) will also be accepted. The NNO is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

This is a great event to provide citizens and visitors the opportunity to learn what agencies are available to them in the community.
