An 89-year-old Belton, Mo, man succumbed to fatal injuries sustained from a one-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on MO-135 in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

An 89-year-old Belton, Mo, man succumbed to fatal injuries sustained from a one-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on MO-135 in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. 

Richard L. Kent was driving a 2005 Chrysler mini-van southbound at approximately 9:45 a.m. on July 26, 2017 on MO-135, roughly .2 miles north of McCasland Road when the "vehicle exited the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, a fence and a tree." 

Next of kin has been notified and Kent was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:00 a.m. by Morgan County Assistant Coroner Jason Denman, according to the report. Kent was not wearing a seat belt and he was transported to Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles by Mid-Mo EMS. 

This was the 3rd fatality for Troop F in July and 32nd for 2017. MSHP was assisted by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office. The vehicle was listed as totaled.
