A Versailles man received minor injuries after the semi-truck he was driving went over a steep embankment on Highway 5 in Camden County Wednesday afternoon.

A Versailles man received minor injuries after the semi-truck he was driving went over a steep embankment on Highway 5 in Camden County Wednesday afternoon.

Dual L. Kumberg, 24, was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the 2006 Peterbilt 387 was northbound near Wading Bird Road when it approached another vehicle stopped in the roadway preparing to make a left-hand turn. Kumberg steered right to avoid impact and went off the right side of the roadway. The semi went off a steep embankment and overturned.

The crash report indicated Kumberg was not wearing a seatbelt and the Peterbilt was totaled.

The accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. July 19.
