A traffic light in Camdenton is not functioning properly due to a contractor error which is causing minor inconveniences for drivers at Laker Pride on East Highway 54.

According to a press release from the City of Camdenton, police were called to a complaint on Saturday, July 15, 2017 and learned, the contractor who has been working on the sidewalk project, had cut a line that provides service to the traffic signal while excavating the area near Laker Pride.

The cut line has affected how the street light operates, loops and cycles. The light will still cycle as normal for the east and west traffic as well for Jack Crowell Road. However, the light for Laker Pride is not cycling and remains red.

Traffic cones have been placed to close off the left turn lane on Laker Pride where drivers will not be able to turn left until it is repaired. Drivers can still turn right. Missouri Department of Transportation and the contractors have been working to fix the lines, “but it may be a few more days before it is completed,” according to the release.

The City anticipates repairs to be completed by Friday, June 21, 2017.

“We understand this has been an inconvenience but hope by getting the information out, drivers can adjust their driving route to avoid this problem or minimize the delay,” the release concluded.
