Dennis Purdy pled guilty to multiple counts of felony sexual assault and sodomy from two separate cases on Wednesday, receiving a total of 20 years of imprisonment.

The 71-year-old former Camdenton fast-food restaurant owner specifically pled guilty to three counts of second degree statutory sodomy, Class B felonies, stemming from assaults that took place in 2016, and deviate sexual assault, a Class C felony, and first degree sexual misconduct, a Class A misdemeanor, stemming from an assault that took place in 2013.

The three counts of second degree statutory sodomy each carried a term of imprisonment of five years. The last two guilty pleas carried a five- and one-year sentence to be served concurrently, however the total time of 20 years will be served consecutively. The negotiated plea bargain was agreed to prior to a pre-trial conference scheduled on July 18, 2017 for the 2016 charges.

Purdy was scheduled to stand trial on Aug. 8, 2017 for the 2013 charges when he was arrested on June 14, 2017 and charged with an additional 10 felonies.

Several of the allegations came during the time Purdy had been out on bond awaiting criminal trial proceedings from charges filed in 2013 for alleged sexual misconduct against a former minor employee of the fast-food business.

Purdy was originally charged with forcible sodomy, statutory sodomy in the second degree and sexual abuse related to an alleged incident on June 4, 2013, involving an underage employee in the basement of the business on N. Business Route 5, Camdenton.

Purdy was arrested within days of the alleged incident, but his trial has been reset a number of times since being arraigned. In July 2016, a mistrial was declared by Judge Kenneth Hayden after Purdy had entered an Alford plea and a guilty plea to the charges against him.

The new charges came from allegations of multiple years of sexual abuse to another unidentified minor female victim. The victim told police of several incidents that occurred from the time she was a young child, as early as around eight-years-old, until around March 2016.
