A 19-year-old Gravois Mills man suffered serious injuries after climbing atop a moving vehicle before falling off on to the roadway in the early morning hours of Sunday in Morgan County.

A 19-year-old Gravois Mills man suffered serious injuries after climbing atop a moving vehicle before falling off on to the roadway in the early morning hours of Sunday in Morgan County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Sequoia Tores was traveling as a passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe being driven southbound on Route T, roughly 100-feet south of Campbell Drive, by 20-year-old Jared P. Wright, of Stover, at approximately 3:43 a.m. on July 16, 2017 when the crash occurred. 

"Crash occurred while passenger climbed onto the roof of vehicle while it was still in motion. Passenger fell off the roof and onto the roadway. Vehicle travelled off the the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch," according to the report. 

Tores was transported by Staff For Life to University Hospital. Wright was listed with minor injuries and sought his own medical attention. Neither were listed with safety belts. The vehicle was listed with minor damage. 

The initial crash report incorrectly referred to Tores as a female, this change has been updated in this article.
