A 46-year-old Seymour man suffered moderate injuries as a passenger in a boating engine incident that occurred at approximately 6:44 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the 10.9-mile marker of the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.

A 46-year-old Seymour man suffered moderate injuries as a passenger in a boating engine incident that occurred at approximately 6:44 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the 10.9-mile marker of the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Marine Division boating incident report, the incident -- labeled as "other" under type -- occurred while stationary "as passenger attempted to start vessel 1 with a rope catching subject's finger in the flywheel." 

James F. Miller was transported via Osage Beach EMS to Lake Regional Hospital. The driver of the 2009 Lowe Pontoon was also named James F. Miller, 26, of Marshfield. Both driver and passenger were listed with safety devices.
