Deputies with the Miller County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop in the early hours of Thursday morning just outside the City of Eldon that lead police on a pursuit involving a stolen law enforcement vehicle by a female suspect who was later apprehended.

According to a press release from MCSO, the traffic stop was conducted along Eastview Drive involving an unidentified vehicle with multiple people in the car on July 13, 2017. Officers made contact with the occupants and upon further investigation and a search of the vehicle located illegal narcotics in the possession of a female sitting in the car.

The female was identified and found to have several felony warrants out for her arrest. Deputies took the female suspect into custody, securing her in a patrol vehicle with hands handcuffed behind her back.

According to the release, while speaking with other occupants of the vehicle, the female "maneuvered herself into the driver's seat of the patrol vehicle and began to drive away."

The suspect drove for a short distance down Eastview Drive before exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot. Officers with the Eldon Police Department, Osage Beach Police Department and Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force assisted in the search for the female in a wooded area along Industrial Drive.

"An exhausted search was conducted and the female suspect was finally apprehended near Maple St. and 8th St.," the release concluded. "Deputies sent additional charges to the prosecutor and the female's identity will be withheld until she receives formal charges."
